Sounds of Christmas 2011

Sounds of Christmas concert was deemed a great success! Record breaking attendance this year was at a count of just under 2000.There were 107 talented people who performed either on stage, in the orchestra or in sound and media which made this year’s concert come alive. We also had 50 people who were greeter’s, ushers and those who prepared food for the wonderful dessert reception. Thanks to all who have been mentioned above and thanks to all who brought their guests to listen. I would like to share some of the comments that came forth from the attendees: “This was better than last year.” “I loved the jazz band music.” “The variety of music was much appreciated.” “The music was so professional; I would have paid to listen to this concert.” “Thank you for sharing your Christmas love to all.” “Thanks for the magnificent Sound of Christmas, Pastor Tim, the orchestra, Jazz group and singers. You did a superb job of entertainment”. “We are visitors from Canada.  We thoroughly enjoyed your concert. If we are back next year, we will come again. God Bless you all”. “This event has become an annual event.  We wait eagerly to find out when the concert dates come out as it is a priority for us and those we want to invite. Thank you. This is truly a quality and memorable event”.

Sounds of Christmas
Through the Eyes of a Child

The tree was decorated, the gifts were wrapped, and the excitement of Christmas was filling this small child with anticipation of Christmas Day. She loved sharing the beautiful story with her dolls, but she wanted to learn more. Grandpa was always full of stories. He could tell about the days of long ago and how he celebrated the birth of Jesus. This story tells how they both realized that they could join their love for Jesus and their love for each other’s music together. You will appreciate the beautiful sounds of the full orchestra, the lively presentation of the jazz band; and, of course, the blended voices of the choir and children’s chorus. We will climax the evening with “The Messiah” focusing on that beautiful silent night when God gave His gift to the world. We just have to share a couple of special stories that were told to us: One gentleman told us that for three years he had invited his friend to attend the Christmas musical. Every year he said “no." Finally, he decided to come just to satisfy his friend. So he attended the Sunday afternoon presentation and could not believe how professional the presentation was and how it inspired him in his celebration of Christmas. He only wished he had attended the first evening so that he could share his experience with others. He assured us he will be at the first performance this year. A lady in the choir had invited co-workers to attend, but, they didn’t want to get involved in a church event. Not backing down, she continued to invite year after year. Finally, several agreed and attended. Never did they think a church could present such beautiful music expressing the true meaning of Christmas. Refreshments will be served following each presentation. Please be sure to participate so you can greet guests and mingle with friends. Friday, December 9, 7:30 pm, Saturday, December 10, 7:30 pm, and Sunday, December 11, 3:00 pm.
