Men's Ministry Partner with New Journey Men's Center

K. Ross Oliver
The Trinity Men's Ministry Team is excited to announce a partnership with the New Journey Men's Center in Phoenix. The NJC is an organization that helps men "improve their life situation." George Good is the Program Director. NJC is a Christian based center that has men stay at their facility for a 90 day commitment. The men that stay at the center are obligated to pay a dollar amount to stay at the facility and they are required to find work. We have planned our first (of what we hope are many) Service Project Workdays at the center.

Please consider joining the men's team on Saturday April 14, 2012. We will also come alongside these men and work with them. We will have an opportunity to interact with them all, and be a positive example to them. We will meet at Trinity to 7:00 am and return at the church around mid-afternoon. The first project we will be putting down a flooring system on their second floor walkway. It is now just bare plywood and it needs to be protected. Our new Trinity Boy Scout troop is also planning on doing some work at the center as well.

Please contact Jeff Engle at 602-319-7151 or Chris Thompson at 480-797-1763 if you would like to help, or have any questions. The Men's Ministry Golf Tournament is coming on May 12, 2012. The Men's Advance will be held on June 22-24 in Prescott. We look forward to you being a part of this new partnership.

 Annual Men's BBQ

Men's Ministry Team

What a Great TEAM Effort!
There were at last glance over 150 men in attendance for our annual Men’s BBQ.  There were 10 or more young men who attended this year a real treat for the Men’s Prep Committee, who were very encouraged to see them. The Men’s Team would like to give a tremendous thank-you to the Ladies Ministry Team for their help at several levels as a team Ministry effort for our BBQ. Thanks to all. Your efforts took the big “W” out of work. It was truly a pleasure to have your genuine assistance. Our guest speaker, Brad Mills of the Anaheim Angels did a tremendous job. Thank you, Brad. Big thanks to Craig Elliott and his support staff, for all of the shopping, food prep, cooking and clean up, a tremendously well organized event.  Well done, Craig. Many comments came from the men saying the food was outstanding. Comments regarding Brad our Keynote Speaker were abundantly encouraging.

Many enjoyed the baseball pitching booth. We were also aware several men in attendance do not attend church or go only occasionally. Let us hold them in prayer that follow up procedures will give us an opportunity to love and care for them in any way needed This is a wonderful outreach opportunity. Remember Men’s Team, the Trinity Annual Yard Sale (January 28, 2012) will be our next hands on event.  Make plans to be there. A Men’s Breakfast meeting is scheduled for February 11, 2012. Our esteemed Chairman, Jeff Engle will give a detailed report regarding our recent Men’s BBQ Event.  Planning for the upcoming year will also be discussed. We do not have a date for the March Men’s Breakfast.  May God Bless you and yours throughout 2012 and keep each one of you healthy and strong.

The Men’s Ministry Team wish to thank John and Suzanne Creasman, for their fabulous hospitality, in their beautiful home, on the weekend of August 19–21, 2011. We had a marvellous time and the food was great (just ask me). Thank you, Folks. We, the Men’s Team, really appreciated the time away.

This past Saturday, the 10th of September, was the Men's Ministry Team Breakfast. It was held in the Fellowship Hall, at 7:00 am. This month we had a very special speaker, George Good. George is the program director for the New Journey Center located in Phoenix. This center helps men get back onto their feet and back into "life". The cooks went overboard (again and thank you), and we enjoyed some great food.

We also have an opportunity to share quality time with other men on Sunday, September 18th during our “Bowling with Dad” event. The fun starts at 12:45 pm at Brunswick Bowling of Mesa (Dobson and Southern). The cost is only $12 per person and that includes: 2 hours of bowling, shoes, pizza and all you can drink! Please come by the ministry table and sign up for this event. We would like to know if you are planning on coming, so we can reserve the right number of lanes. There will be prizes and give-a-ways as always. Even if you do not have any kids to bring, we can help with that. There are always some kids who need a dad for the afternoon. It is a fantastic time - even if you only come to watch Kurt Morris bowl the perfect game! Invite your friends, co-workers and family to come with you. It is just plain fun!!!

Finally, on October 1, 2011, the Men of Trinity are having an informal BBQ and "Hang Out" night at Tom Durfee's home. The burning of meat will commence at 6:00 pm and goes on “till whenever”. Just bring meat for yourself to grill and a dish to share. We will have fliers at the Men’s Ministry table for the next 2 Sundays.

 Our Mission

Our purpose is to build men of integrity, identity, and influence by encouraging them to become positive leaders in their home, in their work, in their community.

We strive to make a difference in each other's lives with brotherly love and to help each other deal with the world's pressures through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our mission is to get men excited about being a part of a local body of believers and serviing the needs of others. The Men's Ministry at Trinity seeks to give glory to God by developing Disciples of Christ through training in day-to-day application of the Word of God.

We do this by meeting regularly, holding one another accountable through discussion and prayer, and facilitating mutual mentoring relationships.

"The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord"
