 Through the Mission Door

Dave & Joyce Falconer

Because Trinity and many other churches shared in making Christmas a great event for children and churches in Mexico, we must say "Thank You". On December 3, 2011, through the partnership of the Anglo and Hispanic Fellowships at Trinity a party was held at the city dump, Mount Hebron Church.

Here are a few things that were accomplished by so many:

  • 86 Decorated coffee cans filled with beans
  • 276 hoodies and 148 quilts made for children by Trinity women
  • 3,700 poppers filled with candy
  • nine churches received gifts from other churches throughout the SW transported in two trailers and a truck.
  • Some items will be taken to the Federal Prison.
  • The message of Jesus was presented to the children at the party.

Thanks to your prayers, we didn't have to pay duty going into Nogales, MX. God kept us safe even with tire problems on the trailer. On December 8, 2011 we took a van filled with gifts to Agua Prieta. MX, paying $80 duty. December 10, 2011 Pastor Yesid took two vans to Imuris, MX to share Christmas with 100 children in a mission’s church.

What God Puts In Our Hands

David and Joyce Falconer

What God puts into our hands. Whatever it is we can share it and God can use it.

We so believe that our job is to help to provide the ideas & supplies for believers here and in Mexico, helping others to reach out to their own communities with the Gospel. We now have a group of Spanish Speaking women meeting with English speaking women at Trinity on a regular basis, sewing and preparing blankets, hoodies and other items for the Christmas party at the city dump in Nogales, Mexico on December 3. Watch the bulletin for the next service day.

Ya’at’eeh ( Welcome) were the first words that we heard from Pastor Leonard Yazzie the pastor of Tse Bil’Otseel Bible Church at Indian Wells on the Navajo Nation. Tse Bil’Otseel Bible Church was founded by an original code talker of World War II who has gone on to be with the Lord.

Pastor Leonard was just commissioned as a Rodeo Pastor with Mission Door and I had the honor of presenting that commission to him on Wednesday, July 14. Pastor Leonard and his wife Lorena have four children.

It was an awesome adventure at Indian Wells on July 22 - 24. We had over 40 people from Trinity Baptist Church working as a team. We constructed two outhouses, and dug four new holes for the old and new outhouses. We had a hard working crew cleaning and pulling weeds for the kids to play safe from the rattlesnakes and V B S for the children. To complete the adventure we also had two flat tires, had some miscommunication regarding V B S, and killed two rattlesnakes!

Saturday evening we had a traditional Navajo meal, with the exception of barbecue mutton which they did just for me. It tasted so very good. There were horse rides for the kids. Some of our kids experienced their first time on a horse.

Sunday Morning, we had Sunday School with Leonard teaching us how to relate to our children. A very memorable sermon about code talkers was given by our own Jim Bob Worthington. Code talkers were in the Bible and are very important to us today. They were the Prophets.

The most important thing that we built was relationships with the Navajo people and unity as a team. It truly was a wonderful time even though we had no running water, one bathroom (outhouse), and a hard ground to sleep on if you did not bring an air mattress.

I would like to give special thanks to Jan Johnson for being our head cook and made such wonderful meals with very hard conditions, Chrissie Boatman for heading up the VBS, Eric Johnson and Tom Rivers as lead carpenters, Jim Bob Worthington for preaching, and Frank Fattizzi for the music. Thank you to all the wonderful people who took time to come on this adventure as a short term mission team. Thanks for all the prayers and support for this project. We could not have done this without your love, prayers, and support.

Through this project I believe that we have been a blessing to the Navajo and we have been blessed by them.

His servant, John Tweeten
